Personal Hygiene Campaign 2022
As part of Project Arogya, Mahim Aboli Foundation bought and donated a pair of undergarments (underwear and undershirts), two handkerchiefs and one towel to five ZP schools in Mahim. The aim of this campaign was to ensure the students had clean clothing. We also aimed to educate them about the importance of maintaining their own personal hygiene i.e., bathing everyday, washing their own clothes etc.
On June 28, board members Shubhada More and Saloni More spent the day shopping at Crawford Market, a wholesale market in Mumbai. Packets containing the items were created. Shubhada and Saloni distributed these packets to two schools on June 29 and to the remaining three schools on July 2 along with board member Rajvi Patil and volunteer Aabha Patil. Two Temki Paada alumni also joined us for the distribution.
The last time this campaign was carried out was in 2018 to students in three schools: Temki Paada, Tal Paada and Dasgao. The response generated was very positive. Parents of the students found it to be a useful donation. Due to the pandemic, we had to discontinue the campaign for a few years but we hope to make this an annual event.
