Workbooks distributed to ZP schools

COVID-19 has made it very difficult to operate as per usual. As mentioned in our previous post, we have had to cancel our annual personal hygiene campaign due to government restrictions. ZP schools have been closed since March and most likely will continue to do so until the situation in India improves. After consulting with a few teachers, we decided to design workbooks for each grade—one in Marathi and the other in English.

Over the past few weeks, we have distributed them (following social distancing protocols) to students in three out of five ZP schools. We delivered the workbooks to a fourth school but due to the Ganesh Chaturthi holidays, we haven’t yet distributed them.

It’s been difficult to gather our wits and plan a feasible project. Mahim has seen a surge of cases and there have been several containment zones blocked out of use by the police and village council.
